I was not happy about this.
News 2 Houston has laid off Wendy Corona, one of the most professional news anchors I’ve seen hit Houston in a long time. Channel 2s news director claims it was for “economic reasons.”
I don’t know, if I want to cut costs, why get rid of the real talent? Aren’t there extra wasted dollars in the budget? Maybe a traffic girl used for “eye candy” purposes. Frankly, I don’t care if her ratings are high amongst married white males living in the suburbs who get bored with their wives. I watch the news, well, for the news. If I want good traffic reports, then I’ll flip over to Darby on the other channel.
KPRC lost some real news talent.

she was professional and great looking-I don’t think it’s a crime to look good. I think that when they renewed D. Sachse’s contract
they couldn’t afford Wendy’s renewal. Hopefully another local channel will sign her,comeon Ch.13.

Hey, I’m glad they gave La Reyna a real story to do during the Olympics. A few human interest stories and her career can take off beyond “eye-candy”-ness.
