Don’t get me wrong, I like Farouk Shami’s “come from nothing to become something” story. It is definitely something for which to be proud. So, with all his recent talk of equal rights, economic opportunity for all, and other left-leaning stances, why on Earth would he fund Republicans?
True, in 2009, he has handed over $20K to the Democratic Party, yet, he’s handed over $5,000 to Republican Ted Cruz who is running for AG when we have the more than capable Barbara Ann Radnofsky running as a Democrat.
Back in 2006, he gave over $24,000 to Kinky, when we were trying to get rid of Rick Perry. In essence, he helped us keep Rick Perry and now he wants to challenge him?
Most offensive is a $500 donation to Martha Wong when everyone in the County was working their butts off to elect Ellen Cohen.
Why give money to candidates who, not only work against Democrats, but also work against the very rights that are now his platform?
Until we get some answers, I won’t buy his “progressive” leanings of late.
