A huge DC-Salute to Fidencio Leija-Chavez, Jr. and a crew he put together to roam the George R. Brown Convention Center on Friday wearing those really cool “Latinos. Engaged. United. Voting.” tees.
This crew set out to gain the attention of various leaders and activists to show Latinos are serious about being taken seriously as voters. They grabbed the attention of Friday’s main speakers, the Castro Brothers, local city leaders, a State Rep from Dallas, and folks from all over who wanted one of those tees!
They even made the rounds at the 2012 Blogger Caucus at Club Curve and other parties.
The effort was a success and it will be something that is sustained and expanding, so, I must give the Crew a huge salute for all of their work.
