I spent the entire day at the Latino Book and Family Festival at the George R. Brown on Saturday. I will return for some more readings, speakers, and seminars on Sunday!
On top of meeting Cartoonista Lalo Alcaraz, I also enjoyed presentations by UH Law Professor Michael Olivas, ACLU Executive Director Anthony Romero, Univision’s Teresa Rodriguez, and a lot of different booths and fun stuff.
In the process, I met some cool folks, like Nuestra Palabra’s Liana Lopez, whom I had only known from an e-mail group to which I belong. And I also met a Facebook friend and local Dem activist Jason Cisneroz, as well as Tanya Macany and Jose Rivera (from Congressman Gene Green’s office).
Things start up again on Sunday at 9AM. Come one over and visit! Lots of good stuff!
