I was happy to hear that the civil rights lawsuit against the City of Houston, et. al., was resolved without a trial. It’s a big win for civil rights, and against overzealous policing.
“This was a serious civil rights violation that the city and Chief Bradford committed,” said Randall Kallinen, one of several lawyers representing the plaintiffs. He said his clients “did a service for the other citizens of Houston in that when their civil rights are violated, they are not going to give up and settle for nothing. This is about changing behavior and people being compensated when a city and police chief violate someone’s civil rights.”
Congrats to attorney Randall Kallinen for representing those kids well.
