Kathy Cheng, a first generation Asian American, was born in Taiwan, but grew up in the Cajun heartland of Louisiana. She attended Louisiana State University, where she completed her studies in Bachelor of Science. Her deep rooted passion for justice eventually led her to Houston to attend South Texas College of Law, where she earned a degree in Doctor of Jurisprudence. After law school, she remained in Houston to pursue her law career. Currently, Kathy, husband
Peter, and baby Isabelle calls the heart of the Warehouse District their home.
For almost a decade, Kathy has been the voice for her clients. Now, she is ready to take on a greater role, being a servant to her community. With her years as a general practitioner, she is prepared to take on the responsibilities of running the judiciary effectively and efficiently. “When elected as the judge of the 209th Criminal District Court, I will make changes to achieve fairness and efficiency so that due process is a reality and justice is with integrity.”
