Catching Up: Guess Who’s A Senator?

Apparently, she’s officially Texas Senator Sylvia R. Garcia, now. I guess I won’t call her “Commish” anymore!

From her campaign office:

It was a short and impromptu ceremony, held so that I could immediately begin my duties as your new Senator. I am humbled that you have chosen me to fight for you in Austin, and I want to honor every family in District 6 by getting to work as fast as possible!

PUBLIC SWEARING-IN CEREMONY – MARCH 21st

No swearing-in ceremony is complete without you! We will have a public ceremony in Austin on Thursday, March 21st for all of our supporters and constituents. Buses providing free transportation will leave from three different locations in Houston at 8am on Thursday, and return by 6pm that same evening. We will have a reception at the Capitol, followed by the swearing-in ceremony at 1:00pm.

Make sure to RSVP to Isabel Longoria by March 18th, as the buses will fill up quickly!

  1. Even though I really didn’t like either Garcia nor Alvarado, I think Garcia is definitely the better of the two evils. I wish a native of the district who really knows our problems could’ve run. Oh well.
