I’m on the Radio!
Listen to KUHF at noon today for another episode of Houston Matters with Craig Cohen. Included in the show will be a short segment called The Good, Bad, and the Ugly of Houston News which will feature yours truly, comedian Ty Mahany, and journalist Ken Fountain. We had some fun discussing a few local topics, so, give it a listen. If you miss it, there will be a podcast added on to the link–and probably on here, too.
Wendy Is Announcing…
I haven’t been this excited about a candidate in a long time. I think it’s the right time for Wendy Davis; I think she’s the right candidate who will open Texans’ eyes, minds, and hearts; and I think she can win with the right formula. That said, I sure hope her advisers keep the same open mind they expect Texans to have in 2014. We won’t win with tired messages and same old inside the box thinking, especially if we want to energize (not just GOTV) the Latino electorate.
Bad Ads and Innuendo
Apparently, that’s the response to a KHOU poll from Annise Parker’s wealthy opponent which basically tells us he has made no significant impact on his challenge. In a new ad, Ben Hall calls Mayor Parker “unethical” based on simple errors on campaign finance reports totaling $400 in fines; then in a vitriolic press release accuses her of corruption based on city contracts which required the entire Council to vote on awarding said contracts. So, I guess the entire Council is corrupt? Ben Hall totally missed the mark, and he hasn’t even bothered to offer an alternative to Mayor Parker. As I stated recently, going negative gets you nowhere if you don’t offer alternative ideas and solutions. And they better be good and workable.
